New Assisted Living facility in Plainville dedicated

The new Assisted Living facility in Plainville, formally named Redbud Estates, was formally dedicated on Sunday, July 27.  On hand for the dedication were 6 of the Rooks County Senior Services Board, the three county commissioners, city council members, as well as State Senator Ralph Ostmeyer and State Representative Dan Johnson.

After a formal welcome was given by Administrator Fontella Fant, Commissioner Gary LeRock gave a short synopsis of how the project began and how the Senior Services Board was formed to take over the administration of the Rooks County Nursing Home (Redbud Village) and the development of Redbud Estates.

Senator Ostmeyer and Representative Johnson both congratulated the community on the development of the facility, which they both praised as a glowing testament to the continued growth of the county.

Board members on hand to conduct a formal ribbon cutting included Chairman Rusty Hrabe, Leasa Hrabe, Barbara Patterson, Venita Cole, and James Ochampaugh.

A standing room only crowd of area residents were on hand to listen to the talks and to tour the facility.
