When April Chesney put together a "brag book" for her sister to carry in her purse to show off photos of her new baby, she hardly realized at the time that it would turn into a business venture.   But that is exactly what happened! 

April's Imagination is a new small business in Stockton that features products like personalized photo frames, scrapbooks, Brag Books, and autograph books.  

April said that her business began innocently enough.  "This all began when I found a neat frame for my new nephew's photo, but the mat was just plain white & boring. I've been scrapbooking for my daughters & my grandmothers for a few years, so I came home & went through my things & 'doctored' the mat up a bit. I added my nephew's name along with some neat embellishments."   About a month later, she put together the "brag book" for her sister.  That's when things started taking off!

"My brother-in-law (who is a successful entrepreneur), kept nudging me to start a business, & I kept getting requests for different books & frames," April said.  "I was pretty nervous about it at first, but then I saw it as a real opportunity!"   This month (May, 2008), April will be celebrating her Grand Opening online! "My brother-in-law, Josh, has been a huge part of this endeavor, as he knows the ins & outs of business. He's helped me in putting together the website, getting a logo designed, & has a wealth of general business knowledge."

April is currently running the business out of her home, but also has an online store at www.aprilsimagination.com.  Locally, she invites anyone to give her a call, email, or just stop by (609 N. 1st) to see some of her projects.  Her main goal is to keep the service as personalized as possible.  "I always want my customers to know that the products they purchase from me are always customized just for them," April stated.
