Rooks County does well with recent CDBG
awards

Rooks County fared well in the just-announced awards through the Kansas Department of Commerce Community Development Block Grant program. Rooks County was awarded $227,774 to replace two 1995 ambulances in the Plainville and Stockton service areas. The county will provide matching funds of $40,196.
The City of Plainville was awarded a grant of $500,000 to replace 8.5 blocks of waterline in the downtown area. The grant will also help pay for replacement of some of the sidewalks in the area that will be demolished during the waterline replacement. The city is matching this grant with $203,566.
