New Stockton Medical Clinic
dedicated
from the Stockton Sentinel, Nov. 17, 2011
The dedication of the new Stockton Medical Clinic was held on Sunday, November 13th on a beautiful autumn afternoon, exactly 56 years ago to the day when the first medical clinic in Stockton held its open house. A large crowd was on hand at the afternoon ceremony, which was held outside in the parking lot of the red brick and limestone facility.
Stockton
Building Commission President Dale Winklepleck gave the welcome. The
Commission has worked with the Rooks County Healthcare Foundation over the past
few years toward the goal of a new medical clinic for the town of Stockton.
Rooks County Healthcare Foundation Director, Kathy Ramsay then spoke, thanking the community for their support in this endeavor, whether it was the giving of time, finances, reading about the projects, distributing flyers door to door, hosting or attending fundraisers, talking about the project or even praying about the project.
Ramsay also spoke on behalf of Dr. Dan Sanchez, who could not be at the dedication. Dr. Sanchez looks forward to serving Stockton and the surrounding area patients in this beautiful new facility. He sent his thanks to Dr. Loney, Dr. Oller and Ms. Genny Rahjes for allowing him to share the space with them. Next, Ramsay thanked God, first and foremost, stating that a day did not go by during the past 19 months that a sign of His love and care did not direct the efforts of those working toward this goal.
Dr. Lynn Fisher, who will share his time between his Plainville office and his day in Stockton, gave the prayer and dedication of the new Stockton Medical Clinic.
Special recognition went to the Rooks County Medical Providers, the Stockton Building Commission, the Rooks County Health Center Board of Directors, the Rooks County Healthcare Foundation, the Capital Campaign Leadership Committee, the Stockton City Commission, the Rooks County Commission, Rooks County Economic Development Director, the Stockton Chamber of Commerce, Cornerstone Building & Design, Spangenberg Phillips Tice Architecture, and the Kansas Dept. of Commerce.
