New park equipment in Damar now a reality

We did it!  The play equipment, landscape timbers, and mulch have been installed!

We had the experts, Kevin & Arian Lackey, from Ways to Play in Wichita onsite to help us out.  We started around 8:30 am and finished around 8 pm and had plenty of volunteers to get it done.   The weather turned a little cold on us and we ran into quite a bit of cement when we were setting the poles for the play set, but we worked through it and got it done.  Everyone enjoyed lunch from the Damar Café, along with some homemade soup and dessert compliments of Verna Arpin and Elaine Brin.

I think we all went home pretty darn proud.  Everything really came together nicely.

Special thanks goes to all the volunteers who worked hard together yesterday to get it done:

Tom Benoit, Donna Benoit, Randy Benoit, Butch Hamel, Kenny Newell, Brian Newell, Rhonda Newell, Brock Newell, Loren Newell, Brenda Benoit, Bryn Benoit, Alex Benoit, Paul Belisle, Ryan Wells, Ivan Normandin, Leonard Bristow, Lujeana Howell, Doug Howell, Rob Sutton and Jana Sutton.

Here are some pictures from yesterday for everyone to enjoy:

We’ll be working on getting our benches, tables, and Donor Bricks installed over the next few months.

We look forward to dedicating the park at the 4th Annual Harvest Festival Car Show here in Damar on July 18th
