expands to Plainville

Employees
of First National Bank of Palco, Hays and now Plainville were happy with the
turnout for the Grand Opening held in Plainville last week.
Bank President Allan States said he was pleased to see 'quite a crowd' in attendance at the ribbon cutting. "We are pleased to be in Plainville," he said, adding that a competitive environment should be a benefit to the community and the area in the long run.
Three full-time employees, Michelle Rounsley, Linda Rudman, and Karen Vanhoose, are at the bank to help customers with a variety of banking services. "We're a full-service bank," Rounsley said. First National offers a variety of lending programs, investments, from annuities and mutuals to CDs along with typical checking and savings accounts. "This is really a community-driven bank," Rounsley said. "They go to extremes to work with people."
States, who was raised in Logan, identifies with small town life and the challenges those towns are facing in today's world. "One of the biggest challenges for small towns is the dwindling demographics," he said, noting that technology is affecting all industries, including the oil and farming industries. He said Plainville was a natural for them to consider when the former credit union closed its doors, and to date they're happy with the decision. "We're pleased with our first month of operation her," he said. Rounsley agreed, and said she believes the bank will be a good compliment to the community.
