Kuhlmann builds house that's "ready to move"
Mark Kuhlmann, owner of Kuhlmann Remodeling and Construction, needed work that would keep his crew busy during the sometimes-slow winter months in Kansas. His answer was to build a house on a foundation that is "ready to move." The home was built specifically for a new owner to have the opportunity to move the home on to a new location with a minimum amount of work.
The
house is a 3 bedroom, 2
bath ranch with 1,582 sq. ft. of living space. In addition, the layout was
built specifically to allow for a basement to be a part of the house.
The
house is also designed for the addition of a garage, even though that is not
part of the structure at this time. The picture shown at the right is
where the garage would be added on.
Even though this house was built to be moved to a permanent location, Kuhlmann is certainly willing to build a home on a permanent site.
Features of the house include:
2 x 6 sidewalls
2 x 10 floor joists
1/2" plywood on sidewalls with Hardi cement fibered siding with 5" exposure
metal wrapped eaves
Heritage shingles with 30# felt
5/8" roof decking
drywall throughout
whirpool tub in master bathroom
solid oak interior trim
over-range microwave, dishwasher, and garbage disposal included
laminate floor in kitchen, dining room, and utility room
carpeting in living room, hall, and three bedrooms
vinyl flooring in bathrooms
walk-in closets
vinyl windows
ceramic tile in foyer
6' x 14' built-in porch
3 exterior exit doors
A house similar to this would be priced in the low $80,000 range depending on the market price of the building materials (does not include foundation or basement, garage, heating & AC systems). If you are interested in a home being built for you, contact Mark Kuhlmann at 785-425-6491.
