part of a $3.8 million capital improvement project at U.S.D. #270 in Plainville,
construction has begun on the addition to the district's second gym, located
across the street from Plainville High School.
The addition will make the gym a premier facility with seating for about 1,500. The addition, which will include multi-purpose rooms, will allow the district to host a number of events. One use would be holding wrestling practice there rather than in the fieldhouse located adjacent to the football field.
Seating, dressing rooms and a concession area will also be added to the district's second gym.
