Plainville-based company earns magazine kudos
by the Salina Journal

The group of high-end design companies based in Plainville has been voted one of the "most exciting home furnishings companies" by the nation's top designers.

House & Garden magazine's April issue includes the top picks of leading interior designers from all areas of home decor.

Dessin Fournir of Plainville was No. 5 on the list of "Most exciting home furnishings company," included with the likes of Holly Hunt, Baker, Ralph Lauren and Donghia.  It ranked No. 7 for occasional furniture to the trade, meaning it's sold only through showrooms directly to designers.

The rankings follow House & Garden's feature on the company in its January issue.

Founded by Plainville native Chuck Comeau, Dessin Fournir includes Classic Cloth fabrics, Gerard furniture, Palmer Hargrave lighting and Kerry Joyce for Dessin Fournir furniture.

Their corporate headquarters are located in renovated buildings in Plainville's downtown.  Comeau and his wife, Shirley, also operated the design-oriented general store, C.S. Post & Co., in Hays.
