Prairie Ag & Auto opens new store in Plainville
On Monday, November 11, 2002, a new parts store opened in Plainville at 307 NW 3rd Street (K-18 Highway). Prairie Ag & Auto, which also owns a parts store in Palco, opened its second All Pro Auto Parts store to better serve the needs of Rooks County. Craig and Jill Aldrege of Palco are the owners of both businesses.
Prairie Ag & Auto stocks a full line of Wix Filers, Gates Belts & Hoses,
Carter Fuel Pumps, water pumps, brakes & hardware, shocks, Calterm
Electrical, Lucas Oil Products, Standard Ignition, Felpro Gaskets, bearings,
seals, plugs, and much. more. They can also turn brake rotors and drums,
and make hydraulic hoses.
Hours for the new store will be: Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5: 30 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To call the Plainville store dial 785-434-7166.
The Aldrege's took advantage of several incentive programs offered through the State of Kansas and Rooks County to help start up the business. The Enterprise Zone program through the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing offers tax exemptions for new construction. Rooks County also offers a Neighborhood Revitalization program that allows for a partial rebate of property taxes over a ten-year period.
