Sale Barn Cafe Now Open
by Candace Rachel, Plainville Times
Renewed activity on the west edge of Plainville along Highway 18 has let people know the Sale Barn Cafe has re-opened. On Thursday, May 27, Pat Hageman, along with members of the Plainville Chamber of Commerce, performed a ribbon-cutting to officially announce the restaurant's opening.
Hageman,
the sole owner of the facility, said the restaurant offers another choice for
people who enjoy dining out, with a full-service menu. Currently the
restaurant is open 6 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 6:00
a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Within a few weeks, Hageman and
his crew intend to be open from 6 to 9 every day.
In preparation for the opening of the restaurant, Hageman employed the services of his mother Helen to oversee getting the facility into tip-top shape. "It's clean," he said with a smile. "With mom, everything starts with cleanliness. She's really worked hard during the last three weeks to clean it up." The building has also received a fresh coat of paint on the outside and new decorative work inside.
Pam Emerick is manager of the cafe. Emerick and Hageman have a similar philosophy about running a restaurant: good food, good service, and a clean place to enjoy a meal. Emerick said it feels good to be a part of the effort, and added that she will be receptive to suggestions from customers. "We'd like people to let us know if there's something they would like on the menu." She noted that Pan-Fried Chicken will be an option for Sunday diners, and indicated that good specials will be a daily offering.
