New Stockton Estate Apartments taking shape
excerpts from the Stockton Sentinel,  October 27, 2011

The new Stockton Estate Apartments, an Independent Living complex, is going up quickly now that crews have arrived from another site.  The concrete pads and utility lines were installed over the summer, but steel frame construction had been delayed because of commitments at other sites.

A little over a year ago Wes Bainter of Bainter Construction announced the interest in building a new facility in Stockton.  Since that time, the 8 unit complex has made continuous progress toward reality.  Bainter is very excited to be part of the community of Stockton and, depending on the weather, he is expecting a late winter or early spring opening of the facility.  He will keep the public informed as progress on the building moves forward.

At this time some of the apartments are already spoken for.  Bainter stated now that the walls are going up, and as it gets nearer to completion, this is when people start to call him so they can be put on the list for one of the apartments.

Bainter feels the complex is very well laid out and is in a good position in the town, especially its close proximity to the new Stockton Medical Clinic and the downtown area.  Bainter was in Stockton a few weeks ago and commented on the progress of the clinic, stating it was a very nice looking building and will be a great asset to the town.

The complex for Stockton will consist of eight, 1,300 sq. ft. two bedroom apartments that are wheelchair and scooter accessible with no-step shower stalls.  There will also be a community dining and meeting room with a kitchen and safe room.  A noon meal will be served every weekday.

Bainter will be looking for a part-time person to oversee the facility and do light maintenance work such as changing light bulbs, bringing in mealsite lunches on the weekdays, and making coffee and tea for residents.  Anyone interested can call Bainter for more information about this position at 785-675-8695.
