Stockton preparing for several new
businesses; Indigo by Jasmine opens
December 2, 2011
One new business has opened on Stockton's Main Street and several more are in the works.
Opening
on a limited basis at 318 1/2 Main (located between Lindee Lou's and Sand Creek
Mercantile) is Indigo by Jasmine. The quaint little jewelry and
accessory shop is run by Vipuwan Thangsuwan, or "Pook" as she is known
by her family and friends in Stockton. Pook recently opened Indigo by
Jasmine in Hays at 111 West 8th Street, and decided to make the Stockton store a
part-time extension of the Hays business.
Indigo by Jasmine has a little bit of everything for everyone and rivals anything you can find in other stores of its kind. The necklaces range from unisex necklaces made of wax string and silver to beads and crystal in all the unique styles and fashions that are so popular today. Her jewelry can be mixed and matched, from cuff and Chinese bracelets to pearl and chandelier earrings, as well as rings, hair clips, bows and head bands decorated with crystals to animal prints.
The Stockton store will be open on Monday and Tuesday from 111:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., including the noon hour. She is also available after hours those evenings by calling 785-259-7213. She will spend the remainder of the week at her Hays store from Wednesday to Sunday during the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Construction has begun on two other new businesses,
Located
at the northwest corner of U.S. 183 and S. First Street in Stockton will be CarQuest
Auto Parts. Chad Sterling is opening the new business to fill the auto
parts needs of Stockton and the northern part of the county. Construction
on the foundation has begun and it is hoped that the store can be open in the
spring of 2012.
Construction
and renovation has also begun on a new attorney's office located in the former
Prairie Classics building located at 419 Main. The new law office will be
the home of former Rooks County resident Joe Gasper. Joe has been
practicing law in Garden City, but has made the decision to return to
Stockton. The building is undergoing an extensive renovation, with
hopes of opening in 2012.
