Western Auto has new owner and grand opening

Dave's Western Auto in Plainville held their grand opening on Saturday, March 4.  David Riley purchased the Western Auto store from Gary LeRock recently, and has opened the store at 605 NW Third Street in the former Classic Cable building.

With the new location, the store promises to be "shopper friendly" with more floor space for product displays.  The new store will offer general merchandise similar to a general mercantile store, appliances, furniture, push and riding lawn mowers, chain saws and tillers, and the latest in audio and video electronics.  "We'll be offering the old product lines and adding a lot of new things," Riley said.

Riley said the Western Auto store will be an authorized Unicel agent and is in the process of procuring Dish Network services.  "We also plan to put in place an eBay store where we can sell and mail products for people who sell on eBay."  The store will also be a UPS pick-up point.

Most any major appliance will be available at the store, including Frigidaire, LG, Heir, and other.  Lawn products including Poulan.  The store will focus on new items, but will carry some of the top-end used items as well.

Brenda Jennings will be store manager, and will be assisted by Nicole Mitchell in sales, Kent Hunter as installation technician, and Lyle Prout as part-time delivery and installation technician.
